Introducing Claire Elizabeth Adkins

Here she is world, after 14 months and 1 week of waiting for a referral! We got the call yesterday morning and have been in constant prayer that God would grant us a peace to say "yes" if this was our Claire! We had originally said we would accept 0-12 months only, and Claire will be 2 next month, so this was not what we were expecting at all. After wrapping our heads around the fact that God's plans were not our plans, this evening we knew we were supposed to say yes, and a couple of hours later were able to get several pictures of our new baby girl!

There is a story to tell of how God showed his hand in all of this, but I'm so overwhelmed right now, I can't even begin to put it into words. I do know that now the hard part begins. Knowing who she is, seeing her face, and not being able to be with her! It will be several months before we can bring her home, so please keep us in prayer.

God is good. God is faithful. God keeps his promises.

I have CHILL bumps everywhere.
God IS faithful!
I have a feeling that He has been preparing you for THIS girl ALL along.
You wouldn't have found her in China... no you had to go this route. You had to wait for such a time as this.
I know how hard it is to wait after you've seen your child's face.
We STARTED Josiah's adoption with his referral...like before we even scheduled our first homestudy visit!
God so blessed our path and we left for China 6 months to the day of receiving his referral. LONG six months waiting while he grew up without us.
God will redeem the time you've missed. You'll see.
Toddler adoption really really really is a blessing. We totally want to do it again if ever the Lord says yes.
I don't know anything about the process with Taiwan, but I know a lot about bonding with a 2 year old.
Give me a holler if you need any advice.
The Lord will supply all your needs.
He delights in giving you the desires of your heart AND setting the lonely in families!
Blessings,
Holly

Congrats!! I have been reading your blog and I am so excited you got your referral. Claire is beautiful! I saw on Facebook you were talking to someone about bows. I made a bunch for my little girl and they are really easy to do. You can get the ribbon from Jo-Anns when it is on sale and they also have a discount card for teachers. I found the thicker ribbon made for a better bow (5/8" I think). Here is the website I used (http://girlythingsbows.com/video_tutorials.html). At the top they have links to all different kinds of bows. I ordered clips on ebay. It is very easy! Good luck- and congrats again!

Ah-humph...She is beautiful...looks a lot like her gorgeous great-aunt Denise. Greg..Jessica-no one deserves this more than you two, and I daresay no one has ever worked harder. I love you guys and can't wait to see my new niece.

With all my heart-both ventricles and atria, aorta and bicuspid valves- the whole shebang- I love you! Aunt Denise
